2nd Test: Gary Ballance hundred cuts India's lead to 76 on Day 2

Gary Ballance hundred:

Gary Ballance scored a fighting hundred and put on an important stand with Moeen Ali before both fell late in the day. England finished at 219/6, trailing by 76.

That's the close after another fascinating day. Those two wickets, either side of new ball, mean India have their noses in front with England also having to bat last. There was another failure for Cook, a superb hundred for Ballance and some lovely bowling from Bhuvneshwar which were the highlights of the day. India may yet regret the life they gave to Ballance when he edged between the keeper and first slip, but if they are even on first innings they should be pretty happy. England, however, will want a significant lead and need a lot from their lower order. The use of the nightwatchman means that their Nos. 9 and 10 have Test hundreds so it's not out of the question. Will be a big day for Prior and India will want more support for Bhuvneshwar. For now, though, from Sid, Alex and Gnasher it's goodbye and see you tomorrow.

2nd Test, Day 2: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up two early wickets after England bowled India out for 295. Bhuvneshwar dismissed Alastair Cook (10) and Sam Robson(17). Bhuvneshwar Kumar 46/4.
